Augustinas Valdemaras (or Voldermaras) was a Lithuanian
nationalist political who served as the country's first Prime Minister in 1918,
and again from 1926 to 1929 when he was ousted in a coup.
This cutting is about an attempted a counter coup when
Valdermaras tried oust President Smetona and take over as head of the government. However, the coup was
unsuccessful, and he was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment but pardoned in
1938.
